     Since 20 January 1942 the soldiers of the 720th Military Police Battalion have proudly represented our country while at home, and abroad in the following countries and territories.

     On all deployments they have honorably served with distinction, pride, and valor when engaged in our national defense, rendering humanitarian assistance, and providing security or training.

This Memorial recognizes all soldiers that served in the 720th MP Battalion or its subordinate units that were killed in action in time of conflict, or died in the line of duty while on active duty.
The display of the Purple Heart Medal    denotes the casualties who were killed in action.

     World War II  When the Battalion was activated on 10 January 1942 it consisted of HQ Company, Able, Baker, Charlie, and Dog Companies, plus a Medical Detachment assigned to HQ Company.

     Fort Hood, Texas In January 1955 Dog Company was deactivated in Japan and on 21 February after 14 years of overseas deployment through WWII and occupation/security duty in Japan the 720th Military Police Battalion colors were cased and transferred to the 4th Army at Fort Hood, Texas. At that time the base was home to the 1st and 4th Armored Divisions, and the Cold War was in progress.

    Vietnam War During the war Battalion organic units consisted of HQ Detachment and three letter companies, Alpha, Bravo and Charlie. Subordinate units that suffered casualties while attached to the Battalion were the 615th MP Company and 188th MP Company.

     After returning to Fort Hood, TX from Vietnam the letter companies were deactivated.

Alpha Company was replaced by the 401st MP Company, Bravo Company the 410th MP Company, and Charlie Company the 411th MP Company.

Fort Hood, Texas  In 1986 the 720th Military Police Battalion was subordinate to the 89th MP Brigade, III Corps at Fort Hood, Texas. At that time the battalion was training for Cold War duties.
