BOOK: The Boys of Northwood by Robert R. "Randy" Mixter (615th MP Company, 720th MP Battalion, 1967).

This is a great book for anyone who wants to visit or better yet revisit a typical boy's coming of age in the 50's and 60's through the experiences and memories of its talented author as he grows up in suburban Baltimore. Its appeal is universal as you travel back to the outdoors world of Randy and his brother and friends. You slip away from parents and teachers into the magical world of scary woodland nights, warm summer days, chasing girls, parking, discovering rock and roll. The author's ability to recall events and people in wonderfully exquisite detail has the effect of bringing your own pre-teen and teen years back to life. There is a magical wonder to that all too short time in your life, and living it in the post war days in America was a gift. It was all low-tech by today's standards but I think a lot more fun. This is a wonderful book and I enjoyed every page. ... Jack Flynn

~ New Photographs and Updates ~
Fellow Veterans ~ Due to previous Association business (reunion & book) I have been unable to keep up with the ever increasing volume of photographs that have been sent in over the past six months and the backlog has grown to over 300. I also have some temporary personal business that will be taking up much of my time in August and September. I ask that you please hold off on sending in any new photographs other than missing photos of our casualties ( Honor Roll Section) until further notice. Thank you... Tom Watson
~ Battalion Status at Fort Hood ~
