Photo G1885_1&2: An unidentified member of B Company, 720th MP Battalion, 89th MP Group, 18th MP Brigade uses a village (unidentified) crapper in the Battalion Tactical Area Of Responsibility in Bien Hoa Province, Military region III, Vietnam in January 1969. The unique sewage system recycled the human waste via the “shit fish” (GI nickname) that were in the pond. The fish gathered underneath the seat when they felt the vibration of a person entering the structure. They were later harvested by the villagers.
